On Monday 12th December five 5th class pupils travelled to Farmleigh house in Dublin with Ms Byrne. They were invited to attend the presentation of awards from the ‘Someone like me’ art competition sponsored by the Department for Justice and Equality. The pupils from Bellurgan won the Louth senior category and were presented with their award by Finian McGrath, Minister of State for Disability Issues. In Farmleigh we were treated to a beautiful reception as well as a Winter Wonderland! The competition encouraged pupils from all over the country to create artworks based on the acceptance of disability in schools. The Bellurgan students designed a clay piece depicting a music group with varying disabilities performing on stage. We are very proud of the pupils involved who are Megan Doris , Charlotte Marmion, Amy Donohoe, Niamh Rice and Shauna Rice.
